Join us for an elegant evening of candlelight jazz in tribute to the music and life of Grover Washington Jr. featuring Peter Jordan saxophonist. Featured saxophonist Peter Jordan has opened for Brian Culbertson and Chris Botti, at jazz festivals up and down the East Coast, and has performed on Capitol Hill for the Obama Administration. He has also shared the stage with Patti LaBelle, Michael McDonald, and many more big names. He is, however, perhaps best known for his many years touring with the Platinum R&B/Funk band Heatwave.
Mr. Jordan will be joined on stage by some of the nation's finest professional instrumentalists including Codrut Birsan on piano (Artistic Director - Chicago Summer Opera), Alan Burroughs on guitar (Instructor - Chicago Musical Arts Institute), Bruce Furlow on keyboards (from D'Aych & The Next Level Band), Phil Crews on drums (Music Director - Rich Township HIgh School), Brian Rivera on percussion, and a SPECIAL GUEST on bass who has performed with Grammy-winning jazz legends.
